STEP 1 - Title this post "DVD Chapters of My Life"
STEP 2 - Section your life story into at least 10 chapters (feel free to do more, it's actually fun and builds on itself). Don't feel responsible for covering every single event and detail of your life, just the interesting stuff that would be in a movie. These chapters should be in order. Most important - give these chapters interesting DVD titles.
1. Planning: In this chapter my buddies and I would meet up periodically throughout the week to continue to plan for our trip in Glacier National Park.
2. The Meeting: In this chapter my friends and their families would meet up for our final meeting before heading off to get our gear ready and get the bus ready to go.
3. The drive: In this chapter my friends and I started our trip to driving to Glacier National Park and our various stops at Americas most well known land marks.
4. Ready, Set GO!: In this chapter we have just arrived at the Park, we set up our camp and started our hike to the Glacier that we where going to climb.
5. The climb: In this chapter we have just reached the bottom of the Glacier and have just started to climb up the Glacier.
6. The sign: In this chapter we start to see clouds in the distance and the winds start to pick up, but we decided to keep climbing hoping we would make it up and down before the storm got there.
7. Get in Quick!: The storm came upon us a lot faster than we thought so we quickly had to make a shelter before the storm got any worse.
8. The escape: Finally after hours of storming we have finally escaped the storm and have decided to continue on to get to the top of the glacier.
9: the peak: We finally reach the top of the glacier and have set up a day camp to explore the surrounding area. We then start to climb down the glacier to get back to our base camp.
10. home sweet home!; After 20 hours of driving we have finally reached home and have celebrated a great trip and an adventure that we will never forget for the rest of our lives.
STEP 3 - Choose 5 chapters and describe in detail the specific scenes that would go in those chapters. You can do this in bullet points or in paragraph descriptions - whatever it takes to give an idea of the story that will be in each chapter.
Chapter 6: As we were climbing up the glacier we started to see dark clouds of in the distance and we thought that they where so far away that we would be up and down the glacier before the storm would ever reach us. We were very wrong. We continued to climb up the glacier and not really spending much attention to the storm. I was listening to my ipod as we climbed up the glacier so I wasn't really hearing any signs from my friends or from the sky of any kind on a nearing storm. We all continued up the glacier mind our own business and looking at the vas snow in front of us. In 6 hours the storm was upon us.
Chapter 1: Five weeks before we would start our journey to Glacier National Park we would meet up every tuesday to plan for our trip, by creating map routes for hiking and driving, getting our equipment, getting our food for the trip, and renting out a bus for the drive to the park. We would then call around to find camp sites for our base camp and go to rock climbing facilities to practice rock climbing in case we had to cross over the back side of the glacier. We would then continue exercise problems to get in physical shape for our rigorous trip to Glacier National Park.
Chapter 7: In this chapter the storm has started to get worse and we have to quickly build a shelter. We found a portion of the mountain that had some trees and deep snow so we created snow shelters under a tree so that we could be protected from snowfall and still be in a secure shelter. We quickly got into our shelters that fit three people and 5 minutes later it started to hail and get very worse outside. We where hunkered down for 7 hours as the storm rolled on and on and on. We played multiple games of poker, war gold fish, and dominoes as my friend played some music on his ipod. We were all very worried about if we could get out of this storm, but we hoped for the best nonetheless.
Chapter 9: After multiples hours of being in our shelter we finally where able to go out side and get some fresh air. We decided that we didn't come all this way to give up now so we decided to continue on and get to the top of the glacier. We hiked up the mountain for another 5 hours or so and finally reached the top of the glaicer. It gave me at least a sense of pride that was lost in the storm and a sense of achievement as well. When we reached the top of the glacier we set up a day camp and decided to go and explore the glacier for the day and after a couple of hours of that we started to head down to the trail. When we got down to the trail we saw that tons of trees where down, but luckily they we were not big enough to block the trail. We finally reached the road and got on the bus back to our camp site.
Chapter 10: After getting to base cap we went on a fishing trip for the next three days. Each night my friends and I would go to the local restaurants for dinner and sit at the camp fire for the night. The final day we all went white water rafting. The company would take us up the river a ways and then the guide would bring us down the river as we rowed the raft. We eventually got down to where they're building was along the river and then we changed out of our wet suits and got back on the bus to spend the last night at our camp site. We woke up early the next morning and started out trip back to Minnesota. On the way we stopped at numerous American land marks and stopped at multiple restaurants. We finally reached Minnesota two days later and spent the next two days resting and relaxing.

No sleep till brooklyn: Beastie Boys: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07Y0cy-nvAg&safety_mode=true&persist_safety_mode=1&safe=active
Dark Knight Soundtrack: Hanz Zimmer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEJZ7xofhys&safety_mode=true&persist_safety_mode=1&safe=active
Dark Knight Soundtrack: The first song I have chosen is the dark knight soundtrack by hanz zimmer because I feel that the music goes with the storm that my friend and I had to live through. The scene that would best go with this soundtrack would be the scene were we are all on top of the glacier and we are huring to make a shelter and get a fire going before the storm came and then we would fight to get down the glacier before the storm would get worst. It helps describes the feeling of a need to hurry so that we can get out the area before the storm got really bad. During the scene it would be snowing heavily and huge cloud cover and hail coming down.
Sweet Home Alabama: I would use the song Sweet Home alabama for when some friends and I climbed a glacier in glacier national park. It was sunny that day and I feel that how layed back Sweet Home Alabama is that it would work perfect. In the scene we would be driving to the bottom of the glacier and getting our hiking equipment out. We would then start to climb up the glacier and make camp at 4,000 feet for the night. When we were climbing the glacier I was also listening to this song and I feel that it represents the happy mood and the liveliness that was present within my group during our ascent up the mountain.
Yellow Submarine: I feel that the song Yellow Submarine by the Beatles would be the best song for the scene were we finally reached the top of the glacier and were looking over the side of the glacier to see the forest under us for miles. It also brings a happy song to lighten the mood of the story and create a happy ending for the story and to counter the sadness from the horrible storm. This song was also one of the songs my friend played on his ipod while we where waiting in our shelter for the storm to end and I feel it made a bad moment in my life a little better and a little more tolerable.
Were not going to take it: I feel that the song Were Not Going To Take It by twisted sister would be the best song for the scene were after the huge snowstorm my group got out of our second shelter and decided to continue climbing the glacier and try and get to the top before the second storm started. In a scence we are not going to take it from the storm and we preservered and continued on in climb. I believe that the portion of the song , Were not gunna take it, NO were not gonna take it, were not gunna take it anymore, would be best to represent my group after the huge snow storm.
Back In Black: I would use the song Back In Back by ACDC for the scene where my friends and I after reaching the top of the glacier decided to go back down and get back onto to the bus and go back to our camp site. I feel that this song fits well with this scene in the movie because it creates a feeling of triumph and gives the audience a way to relate to my story and hopefully use the same song to remember a time in their life. It helps brings the audience closer to the story and try to have them relate it to their own life.

Movie Poster Gallery Walk
Fighting the current is the first movie poster that felt that I would want to watch. The reason why I wanted to watch this movie is because of the imaging and because of the interesting and funny quotes that are on the poster. I also liked it because the whole poster created a feeling of curiousity and wanting to know what i this movie about.
Moving Borders is the second movie that I felt that I wanted to watch. I wanted to watch this movie because it is the story of someone moving from place to place which I have done as well. This is the story of someone elses life, but because of how mch I feel that it relates to mine I am curious to see what the rest of the movie would be like.

Poetry Unit reflection
Throughout our poetry unit we have worked on tons of different projects that have tested my ability to write certain types of poetry and to try and stay to the beat and rhythm of the poem as I write it. Either it was by following the bah-DUM or BAH-dum rhythm or by creative visual drawings with the words of my poems. It tested me by being more creative in my writing and to make my poems better. We started out with more basic and easy poems and overtime the difficulty of writing the poems got harder and harder to do because of the amount of rules and regulations that you had to follow when writing the individual poems. We all as a class were tested to write these poems in the most creative way possible and to follow the rules, but at the same time make it as unique as each person was and to reflect ourselves within our poems and to express our thoughts and feelings. I feel like during the poem unit my creative mind become more open to more ideas and I wasn’t as nervous about writing what I felt was write. Later on near the end of the poetry unit we were able to write whatever type of poem we wanted which after weeks of restrictions the ability of being able to have freedom in my writing and to write what came to mind was a well-earned feeling. When it came to the louder than a hornet poetry off I was really nervous because I was reading my own poetry to a room full of people who went about writing the poem in very different ways. I felt like no matter what my poems truly did express myself and my thoughts in mind and it was a way to express my creativity on paper.

Explanation: I chose the article because I felt that because of the occurring dry streak that I should choose an article that talked about the danger of dry streaks which one is wildfires. Th articles basically describes a brief summary of the wildfire and ways that they are trying to prevent the underground spread of the fie.

Beat Poem
Nothing is more special than siting down and watching a movie about two Irish guys in Boston,
It brings me closer to my culture of red heads and potatoes,
If I need my car fixed Ill head over to Reilly's and stop by the muffin shop on the way back,
when I hang out with my friends we stop by T-Bell on our to EP,
And catch a movie at the cave,
When I go skiing whenever we see a kid go to slow off a jump then they become a knuckler,
I've never had a tweet and don't plan on it,
its too popular like mickyD's or BK,
or red heads and fugs,
Life isn't as simple as the drop down menu,
It takes hard work and passion,
It is more than just a daily trip to B-dubs.
B-dubs: a nickname for buffalo wild wings restaurant chain.
drop down menu: the menu you look up at and can choose anything you want from it at most fast food restaurants.
fugs: a nickname for Fuddruckers.
red heads: a nickname for the restaurant chain Wendy's.
mickyD's: nickname for McDonald's the restaurant chain.
BK: a nickname for the Burger King restaurant chain.
tweet : it means a person who has a twitter account or the name for a twitter message.
knuckler: when someone goes to slow off a ski jump and hits the knuckle of the landing sending them flying.
cave: a nickname for the movie theater.
the muffin shop: a nickname for breadsmiths.
Reilly's: it is a reference to O'Reilly auto shop
red heads and potatoes: a reference to Irish people
movie about two Irish guys in Boston: reference to the movie Boondocks Saints
EP: Eden prairie mall
Explanation: I believe that my poem has a jazz/blues feel to it because at least when I read through it its kinda slow, but at times it amps up and the beat is always changing like in a jazz or blues song. I think in my culture or at least my era the people that are a part of it are completely controlled with technology and in my poem I talk about the ways how I am really not like that and I am countering my current culture. I wrote this poem the way I did because it describes a simple boring life like a lot of blues songs back in the day. I wrote this poem the way I did to symbolize old time blues or jazz songs.

the cold life
Walking down the cold sidewalk,
you see people hurt mentally and physically and there is no way to help them,
you hear their cry, but cannot answer them,
you run towards them to make their life a new,
but by the time you get to them they are gone,
you feel a tingle on your shoulder and realize its raining,
you keep walking in the poring raining waiting for someone to help you,
you realize that you are starting to become the people you tried to save,
there no way out of this life, but you don't believe that,
you run around trying to reach the ones you love with no answer or remorse,
and eventually you realize that this tormenting life has no end and it continues on in agony for all eternity,
that the pain will never stop,
the rain will continue to poor,
and the agonizing life that you've created for yourself will never end,
but continue on until someone crosses the road like you did to try and save someone from this agonizing life,
a guardian angel taking you to the great white light of night.

Explanation:
My image is the words falling down like rain onto the cold streets which are described in my poem. It tells the story of a person who wishes to help, and gets that chance but is forced to take the place of the person he saved and must wait for someone else to take their place. The character try's to reach out to the ones they loved and the people that they thought loved them and realize that no one will take their place because the life they are going to live is a life of agony and sadness that no one wants to live.
